Liz Hurley

Liz Hurley is an author and publisher based in Mevagissey, Cornwall. She founded Mudlark's Press in 2016 to publish walking guides, and runs Hurley Books — a bookshop a few yards from the sea — with her husband Stephen.

She now writes across four series under three names.

A note for anyone who arrived here by accident: this is Liz Hurley the Cornish author and bookseller. She is not Elizabeth Hurley, the actress and model. Different person entirely, no relation.

The Hiverton Sisters

Five sisters, five stories, one life-changing inheritance. Uplifting women's fiction with proper plots underneath the warmth — inheritances, fashion houses, film shoots, family arguments that have been brewing for decades.

A New Life for Ariana Byrne was a finalist in the Romantic Novelists' Association Debut Romantic Novel award.

  1. A New Life for Ariana Byrne
  2. Cornish Dreams at Cockleshell Cottage
  3. High Heels in the Highlands
  4. From Ireland with Love
  5. Aster Victorious

Each sister gets her own book, so they work in any order — but they're written to run in the sequence above. The whole set is available as a box set, signed or unsigned.

The series was originally published by Hera Books and has since returned to Mudlark's Press.

Cornish Walks

A History of Mevagissey — the story of the village the bookshop sits in, available in paperback, ebook and audio.

The other names

To make it easier for readers to find the right kind of book, Liz publishes fiction under two additional pen names:

  • Eva St John — science fiction and urban fantasy. The Quantum Curators and the Norwich Map Runners.
  • Anna Penrose — crime. The Golden Murders.

All three are the same author, publishing through the same press.

About Mudlark's Press

Mudlark's is an old family nickname, from finding things in the river as children. It seemed right for a small press putting out a mixed collection of titles — each one a small treasure waiting to be turned up.

Signed copies are posted from the bookshop in Mevagissey. Unsigned copies are printed to order and can be sent worldwide.
