What is the Quantum Curators series about?
The Quantum Curators series is a genre-blending adventure that mixes history, science fiction, and fantasy. On Alpha Earth—a parallel world where the Library of Alexandria was never destroyed—curators use quantum technology to step into our world (Beta Earth) and rescue priceless artefacts before they’re lost forever.
But not every retrieval goes smoothly, and saving treasures soon turns into saving the world.
Do I need to read the books in order?
Yes! Each novel features a daring mission, but there’s also a larger story arc with secrets, betrayals, and some jaw-dropping revelations.
Start with Book 1: The Quantum Curators and the Fabergé Egg and follow the series in sequence for the best experience.
How many books are there?
So far, there are five adventures to enjoy:
The Quantum Curators and the Fabergé Egg
The Quantum Curators and the Enemy Within
The Quantum Curators and the Missing Codex
The Quantum Curators and the Shattered Timeline
The Quantum Curators and the Great Deceiver
Who are the main characters?
- Julius Strathclyde – a Cambridge professor of theology and folklore, suddenly swept into Alpha Earth. Intelligent, witty, and frequently in over his head.
Neith Salah – an Alpha Earth curator, brave and sharp-tongued, with a flair for dangerous missions.
Clio Masoud – Julius and Neith’s fellow curator, calm under pressure but not without her secrets.
Rami Gamal – dependable, watchful, and far too used to Julius’ chaos.
Asha Giovanetti – Head of Custodians, and possibly the scariest woman in Alexandria.
Together, they retrieve artefacts, face coups, dodge engineers, and occasionally run into god-like beings who really shouldn’t exist.
Is it more science fiction, fantasy, or history?
All three!
Science fiction: quantum stepping between worlds.
Fantasy: myth and legend creep into the story in surprising ways.
History: artefacts like Fabergé eggs, the Great Omar, and Excalibur are at the heart of the plots.
Think Rivers of London meets Indiana Jones, with a dash of Doctor Who.
What are the tropes in The Quantum Curators
Core Premise Tropes
Alternate History – Alpha Earth diverged from ours when the Library of Alexandria survived.
Parallel Worlds – Beta Earth (ours) and Alpha Earth (knowledge-based) run side by side.
Quantum MacGuffins – priceless artefacts are the centre of each mission.
Secret Society – the Mouseion of Alexandria oversees curators, custodians, and engineers.
Character Tropes
The Reluctant Hero – Julius Strathclyde, a Beta academic dragged into Alpha’s world.
The Action Girl – Neith Salah, bold, fearless, and brilliant with a sword or a plan.
The Odd Couple Duo – Julius (bookish and academic) and Neith (practical and daring) thrown together.
Snarky Best Friend – Clio Masoud, balancing Neith’s wildness with wit and calm.
The Mentor – Sam Nymens, gruff but dependable leader.
The Ice Queen – Asha Giovanetti, formidable Head of Custodians.
The Trickster – Cade (later in the arc), charming but with unclear motives.
Adventure & Conflict Tropes
Race Against Time – artefacts must be saved before destruction.
Heist / Retrieval Missions – sneaking, stealing, or bargaining for objects across time.
Fish Out of Water – Julius trying (and failing) to adapt to Alpha Earth’s customs.
Mistrust Within the Ranks – not all curators or engineers are allies.
Coup d’État – internal uprisings threaten Alpha society (Enemy Within).
Myth Made Flesh – legends like King Arthur suddenly appear (Missing Codex).
Lost Knowledge – whole storylines hinge on codices, books, or forgotten science.
The Enemy Within – traitors and infiltrators undermine from inside.
Timeline Tampering – stepping to different eras risks paradoxes and chaos.
Tone & Style Tropes
Witty Banter – Julius and Neith’s exchanges are sharp, funny, and very British.
Comedy Amidst Chaos – absurd moments crop up even during deadly missions.
Found Family – the curators rely on each other as more than colleagues.
Science vs Faith – Julius’ theology background clashes with Alpha’s rational society.
Culture Clash – Alpha’s ordered knowledge-based culture vs Beta’s messy, warlike history.
Bigger Arc Tropes
Hidden Puppetmaster – a seemingly loyal ally turns out to be pulling strings (Great Deceiver).
Amnesia / Altered Memories – Alpha citizens manipulated to forget truths (Great Deceiver).
Gods Walk Among Us – extra-dimensional beings intrude on Alpha Earth (Shattered Timeline).
The Rogue Ally – Cade and others who walk the line between friend and foe.
The Chosen Outsider – Julius is uniquely dangerous/useful because of his Beta origin.
✨ In short, the series gives readers:
parallel worlds, daring heists, academic humour, dangerous coups, god-like beings, witty banter, and a reluctant scholar-turned-hero trying to survive in a society where “death by quantum physics” is just another work hazard.
Are the books suitable for all readers?
The series is written for adults but is suitable for teens and up. Expect swearing, peril, and the occasional grisly moment—but nothing gratuitous.

What is the Hiverton Sisters series about?
The series follows five orphaned sisters from East London who suddenly discover they’ve inherited a grand estate and a title. Each book tells the story of one sister as she finds her place in this new world, balancing love, legacy, and the demands of family.
Do I need to read the books in order?
Not at all. Each novel can be enjoyed on its own. But if you read them in order, you’ll get the full arc of the sisters’ journey and enjoy the little crossovers and family moments even more.
Who are the sisters?
Ariana (Ari): The eldest, a single mum who becomes the Countess of Hiverton.
Clementine (Clem): Fiery, creative, and outspoken, trying to reclaim her fashion career while wrangling a Scottish castle.
Patricia (Paddy): The glamorous model who swaps the catwalk for Cornish cliff tops and discovers who she really is.
Nicoletta (Nick): The sharp, financially brilliant twin whose cool exterior hides a vulnerable heart.
Aster: The baby of the family, whip-smart and fiercely independent, navigating danger and romance in London.
Where are the books set?
The sisters’ new lives are rooted in the grand properties of the Hiverton estate, each with its own character and challenges:
Hiverton Manor (Norfolk): A sprawling Tudor mansion and the ancestral heart of the de Foix family, inherited by Ari.
Ruacoddy Castle (Scotland): A brooding Highland estate where Clem finds more than just old secrets to untangle.
Kensey House & Tregiskey Village (Cornwall): A picturesque Cornish home and its fishing village, where Paddy must prove herself.
Foix Place (London): The family’s townhouse in Mayfair, where Nick and Aster balance aristocratic titles with city life.
These properties aren’t just backdrops – they’re central to the drama, the challenges, and the joys of the sisters’ stories.
Is it romance or family saga?
It’s both! Each sister’s story includes love, laughter, and romantic sparks, but the true thread running through the series is the sisters’ bond – their loyalty, their clashes, and their determination to face the world together.
In what order were the books published?
- Dear Diary (novella prequel) Their mother's story.
A New Life for Ariana Byrne
High Heels in the Highlands
Cornish Dreams at Cockleshell Cottage
From Ireland with Love
Aster Victorious
Who are these books for?
The Hiverton Sisters series is perfect for readers who love:
Uplifting romantic fiction with strong heroines and witty dialogue
Family sagas with warmth and heart
Gorgeous stately homes and sweeping UK settings
And for those wondering about spice levels: the books are closed-door romances. You’ll get chemistry, kisses, and swoony romantic moments, but the bedroom door stays politely shut. Think more warm hug with sparkles than hot and heavy.
If you enjoy uplifting, romantic fiction with strong heroines, witty dialogue, and a big-hearted family at its centre, the Hiverton Sisters will sweep you away. Perfect for fans of Katie Fforde, Jill Mansell, Jenny Colgan, and Trisha Ashley.
